This is a work in progress!
I’ve always been fascinated by the figure of Artemisa, the Greek goddess of the hunt, because she represents an idea of womanhood that is not very present in our society or popular culture, but is deeply embedded in our psyche thanks to pre-christian societies.
I want to revive this archetype, through the development of moments and images. The moments are developed together with dancer and choreographer Anouk Froidevaux, who developes a body work method called “Body and Belonging” where she embraces the concept of inhabiting her body and inhabiting the landscape.
The images are created by photographing these moments and developing them using cyanotype.
How confortable to we feel inhabiting our own bodies?
How close do we feel to the ground, nature and the landscape we inhabit?
How can a photograph and being photographed change the perception of our bodies?
We forget we are animals in the wild. Running free.
